OUR APPROACH
Our Method
Every parent hopes to find the best possible educational path for their child, one that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
For more than a century, the Montessori Method has proven its effectiveness worldwide. It offers a student-led, self-paced approach, guided by knowledgeable teachers in a nurturing, multi-age environment. Children follow their curiosity, explore concepts deeply, and learn to take ownership of their growth. This freedom within structure fosters independence, responsibility, and a sense of community.
At Skyridge Montessori, students grow into confident, self-directed learners who think critically, work collaboratively, and act with empathy and integrity — skills that last a lifetime.
Our Teachers
Montessori teachers are guides, they prepare the environment, observe carefully, and step in to inspire rather than instruct.
They tailor lessons to each child’s pace and interests, offering individual and small-group lessons across all areas of study: language, math, sciences, arts, and practical life. Lessons are brief but engaging, sparking curiosity and self-motivation.
By nurturing independence instead of relying on rewards or punishment, our teachers help each child discover the satisfaction of meaningful work and the joy of learning.
Our Classrooms
Skyridge classrooms are designed for focus and calm. Natural light, soft tones, and uncluttered shelves create a space that invites exploration and independence.
Children work individually or in small groups, choosing activities that engage their interests. They read, experiment, collaborate, and sometimes pause quietly to reflect — all within a community that values respect and curiosity.
Teachers observe and guide, ensuring each child is supported and challenged at the right level. Expectations are clear yet open-ended, allowing students to grow with confidence and purpose.
Curriculum
Skyridge Montessori offers a rigorous and holistic curriculum aligned with the BC Ministry of Education and enriched through Montessori principles. Each program is tailored to a child’s individual pace and learning style, fostering academic strength, independence, and global awareness.
